Town of Wayland to Hold Discussion Forum About Recently Installed Traffic Pattern Signs in Glezen Lane Area

WAYLAND — The Wayland Select Board wishes to invite residents to a forum to discuss the recent litigation settlement regarding traffic on Glezen Lane.

WHEN:

Monday, Sept. 12, at 7:15 p.m.

WHERE:

Large Hearing Room at Town Hall, 41 Cochituate Road. Participants may also attend via Zoom. The Zoom link will be posted here on the day of the forum.

WHAT:

The Select Board will host a forum about the May 2022 settlement in the case of Bernstein, et al. vs. Planning Board, et al., which resulted in traffic flow changes around Glezen Lane and Sudbury Road/Route 27.

At the forum, Town Counsel will discuss the history of the litigation, which dates back to 2008 when David and Kathleen Bernstein and 11 other residents raised concerns about increased traffic on Glezen Lane from the then-proposed development of Wayland Town Center.

Following the presentation, there will be an opportunity for public comment and questions.

As part of the settlement, the Town reinstalled turn restriction signs on Concord Road and Glezen Lane. These signs were originally installed in 2008 following a court judgment, but were removed in 2015 to conduct a traffic study approved by a court-granted motion.

Documents related to the settlement and historic traffic study data are available on the Town’s website here.
