WAYLAND — Chief Neil McPherson is pleased to announce that the Wayland Fire Department will offer a free community CPR course in March and encourages those wishing to learn this lifesaving technique to sign up.

WHEN:

Wednesday, March 8, from 6-9 p.m.

WHERE:

Public Safety Building, 38 Cochituate Road

WHAT:

The free course will cover CPR and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training for adult, children and infant patients. The Department will follow curriculum set by the Emergency Care and Safety Institute (ECSI).

The course is ideal for community groups, parents, grandparents, caregivers, schools and students, and anyone interested in learning how to save a life.

Participants will have the opportunity to obtain a certification card, which is valid for two years, for a $10 fee. Payment should be made via check to the Town of Wayland.

“Everyone should know life-saving steps to take in emergency situations and this course will teach you those techniques. Knowing CPR could make a difference in saving a person’s life, and we encourage those interested to attend our free course to learn more about CPR and AED,” Chief McPherson said.

To sign up for the course and for more information, please email Firefighter Mitch Mabardy at MMabardy@wayland.ma.us. The signup deadline is March 1.
