Join author Nicole Eustace for an online talk on her Pulitzer Prize-winning Covered With Night: A Story of Murder and Indigenous Justice in Early America, which reconstructs the virtually forgotten history of a brutal assault of a Seneca hunter by pair of fur traders in 1722.  Eustace reveals a remarkable series of criminal investigations and cross-cultural negotiations that ignited a contest between Native American forms of justice—rooted in community, forgiveness, and reparations—and the colonial ideology of harsh reprisal.  Presented in partnership with the Organization of American Historians and the Billerica Public Library, as well as other Massachusetts libraries.  Register.  Wednesday, November 9 at 7 p.m.
