Town Clerk Reid and the Town of Wayland wish to recognize the following officials for their service to the community: Town Moderator Dennis Berry, Select Board members Cherry Karlson and David B. Watkins, School Committee members Christopher Ryan and Jeanne Downs, Board of Health member Arnold Soslow, Recreation Commissioner Leanne Mason, and Trust Fund Commission member Nicole Cissell.

“Thank you to all who step forward to serve,” Town Clerk Reid said. “One of Wayland’s great strengths is the number of people who volunteer their time, knowledge, and expertise toward building a community we all can be proud of. We are grateful for their commitment.”

This year’s Town Election also saw the introduction of “poll pads,” which streamlined the voting process and enhanced election security. Voters checked in at one of two pads at their polling location, rather than standing in line according to their designated street, and received a check-in receipt confirming their voter status. Ballot box clerks would verify the receipt and ensure the voter was casting a ballot in the correct precinct.

Town Manager Michael McCall added, “Thank you to Town Clerk Reid and her staff, whom we rely on each year. These changes were integrated seamlessly, and many voters have complemented the Town for significantly improving the voter experience.”
