Great Presenters: Protoamerican History–Archaeological Tales of Discovery, Invasion, and Encounter
Debates regarding the magnitude, tempo, and ecological effects of Indigenous population decline in the Americas constitute some of the most contentious disputes in the study of Native American history. Scottish Fiddle and Cello Concert
Siblings Elizabeth and Ben Anderson have an international following, and a sound rooted in tradition, inspired by the contemporary, and completely original. Elizabeth is the 2018 New England Scottish Fiddle Champion. Ben studies computer science and music at WPI. They released their CD “Over the Isles” in 2018. Sunday, February 11 at 3 p.m. in the Round Room.
Author Talk: Joel F. Johnson and Never
In this debut novel, Joel Johnson’s narrator looks back on a childhood in the fictional town of LaSalle, Georgia, a place notorious in the history of the civil rights movement, where three families struggle to keep their footing in a crumbling society. Johnson grew up in Columbus, Georgia and attended segregated public schools through sixth grade. He is a graduate of Harvard College and the author of Where Inches Seem Miles, a collection of poems. Sign Up for ESOL Tutor Training
It doesn’t matter if you don’t speak a foreign language or have never taught before. Once you complete the Library-sponsored training course, you’re ready for what could be a wonderfully rewarding relationship. The course for this winter/spring will be on Zoom, from 9:15-12:15 a.m. on five consecutive Mondays starting February 26. (The final class will be in person.) Our new catalog is here! If you’ve established a Reading History or other lists in the old catalog, you need to transfer them to the new one to save them. Log in to your account in the new system, go to your lists, and select “Import from Old Catalog.” Note: large lists may take extra time to migrate. We’re always ready to help; call or stop by anytime.

Baby & Toddler Storytime

Kids Chess Club
Children will learn chess and get tips to improve their game. This is a beginner’s club for children with little to no chess experience.
