ADULT SERVICES
Author Talk: The Gilded Ones series by Namina Forna
Join us for an action-packed online conversation with this New York Times-bestselling author about the series’ second installment, The Merciless Ones. It’s been six months since Deka freed the goddesses in the ancient kingdom of Otera and discovered who she really is, but war is waging across the kingdom, and the real battle has only just begun. And with her own gifts changing, Deka must discover if she holds the key to saving Otera–or if she might be its greatest threat. Register. Saturday, January 7 at 2 p.m.
Great Presenters: Steve Robb—Painting with Words and Music
Using his own compositions, Steve kicks off our in-person, 2023 series by describing the process of creating new songs, including overcoming blocks, revising, and song structures. Steve was a founding member of the bands Mid-Life Crisis, Working Still, and Cabin Fever, and started the (in)famous Open Mic at the Dudley Chateau. Register. Tuesday, January 10 at 7:30 p.m.
Mysterious Library Artifact
It’s a big old wooden crate that was improbably tucked away in our historical collection. It’s easily over 100 years old. What was it used for? Why do we have it? Actually, we know the answers to those questions, but if you’d like to ponder them, too, come on in and take a look at it, ensconced in our nifty new display case.
